it is so good to be home…

yesterday and today were days of…laundry, cleaning out my purse, cleaning out teaching stuff…going through the mail…going through 45o emails…putting up the booth for Lakeland/Tampa Florida…Nick and I made homemade spaghetti & meatball for supper…then I quilted Luke’s quilt that has been loaded on my long arm for a few weeks, it is just two pieces of fabric, one flannel on the back..but this is what he picked out , he also was going to quilt it???… I also put the binding on a quilt that came back from the quilter…wow…it is good to be home…oh…i did finish the pennies on the flight on the way home, but do not have them stitched together yet…here they are…I am bushed…goodnite! PS I am still on West Coast time…I did not get used to it til the last day I was there…hopefully I can get my butt out of bed to go to exercise tomorrow…

My last worshop for January…. I think i will take a few days off now…

My January tour…4 cities..6 workshops…126 students…I had a blast!!!! Loved meeting all my new and groupie students!!!! (yes some actually pay $$$ to come back again)
Getting people excited about wool and showing them that they CAN DO IT too…there is nothing like seeing the light bulb go on for these girls when i am teaching them all the stitches and tricks to working with wool….It is very satisfying…I am in the Sacramento airport flying back to Ontario CA where I will fly back home tomorrow…and spend some time with my hunny and puppies and maybe start a new quilt!

It’s the Sun

I am enjoying a little CA sunshine before I go to the guild meeting tonite..see my shoes… Yes those are my fav pair of flipflops and I am just a stitchin away on my next design for wool retreat weekend…us Wisconsin girls suffer from sun deprivation… We do not see it for months, that is why I am so excited to be basking in it today…sorry to be more excited about it than my project but here is a peek at it…LB

It’s Beverly Hillbilly Bill

I am laying in my hotel bed thinking about what I have done in the last 10 days or so…here is a quick list….did a trunk show/lecture and taught 2 workshops(32 students) for Salt Creek quilt guild in Hinsdale IL…flew to CA, met Nick there who drove all our “stuff”, set up and vended at the Road2Califonia Q show and taught 2 night workshops(49 students)during the 4 day show. Then was driven to Temecula CA by Bill with my quilts strapped in the bed of his pickup…

Where I taught another workshop at Quilter’s Coop (23 students) and a quick trunk show of my quilts last night…in a few hours I will be renting a car and driving about 8 hours to Yuba City to do it all over again for Vally quilt guild…Can’t think of a better job to have… I love all the Quilter’s I meet they are so appreciative of everything I have to offer them…even though the girls yesterday didn’t believe I made all my items in my trunk show myself…Now think about this for a minute….i love making quilts & wool projects why would I give THAT JOB away…it is the best part of what I have to do!!!!

A bet is a bet….

Here is California’s biggest Steeler’s fan paying off her bet of our GB Packers beating her Steelers in last year’s Super Bowl. Raquel from Stars & Scraps Quilt shop in Corona CA had to wear Nicks a-rod jersey all day during the q-show…she looks very dejected wouldn’t you say….but Nick wouldn’t let her off the bet….meanie

Sunny CA

I have spent the last week in sunny CA and it is very nice…when we first arrived Nick and I took a drive…to the mountain…so we drove until we could not go any farther…it must be nice to pick an orange or a lemon off your own tree! But I suppose it is no different than growing apples in Wi. I seen CA’s version of a perennially garden and it was just as beautiful as our gardens but VERY different I will post more on the Road 2 CA quilt show later…I am still here for another week of teaching…in Temecula and Yuba City….

Scrap Basket Block #8

Ok…I know I get a little side tracked but this last week when I was rummaging around in my sewing room I came across my 6″ Scrap Basket Blocks that I started awhile back…I have given you directions for 7 so far…I am sure you all can relate to my dilemma here and forgive me for not being consistent…lots of things get in the way and I am developing a little A.D.D. if you know what I mean…so here are number 8′s directions….just click and print. Here is a peek at Jeter & Presley’s Christmas from Mom & Dad. I will show you later what they got from
Aunt Nancy when we use it…Do you see my new Grand Puppy Brutus? I call him Bruty he is no Brutus yet!!! I spent the day after Christmas just playing…laid down this cute snowman mat from Primitives by Lynda…it will be available in the shop soon to purchase…the pattern is in the Summer issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects. The kits will be $40 and we have a few of that issue magazine left for $10 if you missed that issue.
